Dr AlBarrak obtained his Diploma in Internal Medicine (American Board of Internal Medicine) in 1997
and in 1998 Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Internal Medicine. In 1999, awarded
a Special Competence in Infectious Diseases from The Royal College of Physicians of Canada and a
Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from Georgas Memorial Institute of Tropical and Preventive
Medicine and Institute de Medicina Tropical “Alexander Von Humboldt”.
Was appointed as General Director for the Saudi Canter for Disease control at Ministry of health from
2014-2017. He was also a member of the GCC Advisory Board for Infection Control from 2009–2015.
Dr AlBarrak has published over 40 articles in various peer-reviewed medical journals. He is currently
the Associate Editor of the Saudi Medical Journal and has published eight editorial articles as Editorin-Chief in Saudi Medical Journal. He is currently an associate member of Canadian Infectious Disease
Society and is an active member of several national associations including; the Saudi Thoracic Society.
