Bio

MD, MPH, PDiCL, FABP, FAAP Consultant Neonatologist and Chair of the Pediatric Department (2004- 2023) and Director of the NICU (2004- 2020). She is the founder and the organizer of the Hot Topics in Neonatal Medicine Conference in Jeddah – S.A since 2005 Dr. Abou Al-Seoud is a graduate of Ain Shams Medical School, Cairo Egypt. She completed Paediatric Residency at New York Medical School, Fellowship Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, at NY Presbyterian Weill Cornell University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell New York. Mai Abou-Al-Seoud has asters an Executive Master’s in Public Health Program & Health Services Management, from Columbia University School of Public Health, New York, NY, and recently acquired a Professional Diploma in Clinical Leadership, from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland, and is finishing her Master in Human factors in Patient Safety from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland. She was the Director of the NICU at King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital (KFAFH) -Jeddah, during which the division was accredited for the Saudi Fellowship program in neonatology. Over more than 16 years of leadership, she facilitated the growth and development of the department to provide all required subspecialties under the umbrella of paediatrics promoting the establishment of four fellowship programs. Dr. Abou Al-Seoud was assigned to be the Director of the Continuous Quality Improvement & Patient Safety department from 2012-2016, during which she prepared the organization for the 1st Joint Commission accreditation in 2015. Since she has been assigned the Assistant Hospital Director for the Academic Affairs and Research Center, and the Designated Institutional Organizer (DIO) from 2017 till the 20th of February 2023 during which she organized the 1st four-year Institutional Accreditation of the Academic Affairs and Training center, thus increasing the number of the Accredited Training Programs from 37 to 51 programs, initiating SCFHS accredited nursing programs, leadership Skills training programs for health care and administrative staff and Simulation Skill lab to support simulation-based learning. Furthermore, her organization of the 1st Medical Education: Transformation & Innovation Conference in October 2022 will be the initial step in establishing an annual event for education and training in the region.
