Dr. Nawal Al Kaabi, MBBS, ABP, FRCPC, CMQ, CPE
Dr. Nawal Al Kaabi is a senior consultant in pediatric infectious diseases, researcher, and healthcare leader in the United Arab Emirates. She currently serves as Senior Advisor at Hayat Biotech and Pediatric Infectious Diseases Consultant at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Al Kaabi graduated with an MBBS from United Arab Emirates University and completed her pediatric and pediatric infectious diseases fellowships at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She also completed an Infection Control Fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, University of Ottawa, Canada. In addition, she is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, holds a Global Research Certification from Harvard University, an American Board Certification in Quality, and the Certified Physician Executive (CPE) designation from the American Association for Physician Leadership.
Throughout her career, Dr. Al Kaabi has led numerous clinical research projects and clinical trials in infectious diseases and vaccine development. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was appointed Chair of the UAE National Clinical Committee for COVID-19 and played a pivotal role in the country’s national response and vaccine development efforts.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to healthcare and research, Dr. Al Kaabi was awarded the prestigious Chinese Government Friendship Award — the highest honor granted to foreign experts by the Chinese government — as well as the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences.
In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr. Al Kaabi chairs the SEHA Infectious Disease and Infection Control Council, contributes extensively to public health policy, and actively participates in postgraduate medical education.
Her areas of expertise include pediatric infectious diseases, vaccine-preventable diseases, pandemics, infection control, clinical research, healthcare leadership, and medical education.
